Leaky roofs wreak havoc

Jun 30, 2020 | RV, Trailer

One of the most common issues with RV’s is a leaky roof. While you may think you can leave your recreation vehicle out in the elements like you would a small vehicle, this is a huge mistake. RV’s and trailers have large seams that weaken over time, due to the elements breaking down seals. This is very different than our day-to-day commuter vehicle which can weather many seasons and not have a single leak. Think of a large, flexible house on wheels – there are a lot of moving parts that flex and move as they are on the road. Then, remaining out in the elements of rain and sun impacts the sealants which harden and leak over time. Eventually, these seams become weakened, making way for water to seep down into the body of the RV or Trailer.

Annual reviews and roof inspections will reveal if there are any weaknesses in your roof, or weakness in the sealant, visible through cracking, hardening or separation. If you have doubts about whether your roof is leaking or if there are any areas that have become weakened through weather or normal travel, give us a call. We will be glad to take a look. Learn more about RV services to keep you safe and on the road.

Annual Inspections include Roof Inspections

If it’s been a while since you have evaluated the health of your vehicle, an annual inspection may be a wise decision to ensure it’s all operating in tip-top shape. Not only will we inspect the roofline, but we will check all of the systems to make sure everything is running at optimal levels so you will remain safe on the road. Check out our special savings on seasonal inspections.

As always, RV Pro came through again. They chased down an electrical issue I had with my class "C" and they finished a day early! The staff is very friendly and the Tech explained what he found and left the defective parts for me to see.
